From Limerick, we took off toward Killarney. We left the divided roads behind and began to experience the wild Irish way of driving. First of all, everyone drives crazy-fast. Then there's the passing: on a 2-lane road, if you want to pass someone, you signal right (you're driving on the left) and the person in front of you kind of pulls over to the left and then you pull out to pass. The oncoming traffic is supposed to notice you and pull over to the right as you straddle both lanes of traffic and drive like a bat out of hell to complete the pass. So it wasn't really surprising to see signs in each county saying, "X number of people were killed on [fill-in-the-blank] County roads in the past 4 years."

Along the way to Killarney we stopped at Adare, and this is Adare Manor, a 19th century structure located on the River Maigue, and near the ruins of Adare Castle.
