castle and tide

ebb and timeless flow
protection and threat
water, moving water
surrounds and separates
rises to kiss foundation stone
falls away revealing
bareness
dark soil
hard rock

and so you are
as the tides around me
constant motion
deep devotion played against 
my gray unyielding walls
you never fail
